About Susan
After an unhappy start at a local high school, she changed tracks and completed A levels at British International College (BIC) and at last found her academic feet. She began to admire the Cambridge system even more in years to come and truly believes that South African students deserve a world-class education.
As someone who didn't fit into the mainstream school system she became passionate about the idea of an education system that caters to the individual. A system that not only provides high academic standards but also gives students the support and freedom to manage their own education.
Penhurst Academy is the embodiment of that vision. |
Working with teens is a unique opportunity to reach a generation.
Susan's strength lies in creating an environment that's conducive to success. Her approachable nature gives her the ability to put both students and parents at ease. By making subjects more relatable and easy to understand she hopes to reduce the anxiety our young adults are faced with in these modern times.
Her enthusiasm in working with teens lead her to opening her own study centre and using an internationally recognised syllabus. She has strong feelings about the importance of international qualifications but also believes there should be major focus on the mental well-being of students.
